Render and share
Export a finished video as an MP4, send a watch link, and download subtitles or an edit package.
When a project looks right, you have two ways to get it to other people. Render makes an MP4 file. Share makes a link that plays the project in the browser.
Render a video
Open the project in the editor and choose Export.
On the Video tab, check the summary (length, frame, scenes, chapters). Then choose Export video.
Keep editing while it renders. Progress shows in the dialog and in the notification bell, and your browser can notify you when it finishes.
When the dialog says Export ready, choose Download.
The render runs on our servers, not in your browser. You can close the dialog and come back. You can also Cancel render while it runs.
When Export is greyed out
The button reads Not ready to export until the project is fully generated. The dialog shows a checklist with three items:
- Scene visuals
- Scene compositions
- Voiceover
Finish generating what the checklist lists, then export again.
What you get
- Format: an MP4 with the voiceover, music and captions mixed in.
- Frame: the project's aspect ratio. New projects can be 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1.
- Quality: by default a render uses the project's setting. Through the API or an agent you can ask for a lower or equal quality with
resolution(480p,720p,1080p,1440p,2160por4k). Your plan sets a ceiling, and a request can only narrow it, never raise it. - Length: a render takes a few minutes.
What a render costs
The Export dialog says: "Renders on our servers — included in your plan, no credits." If a render ever has a price on your account, the API refuses with insufficient_credits and tells you the price and your balance. See Credits and pricing.
Download options
After a render, Download gives you the video. If the project has a thumbnail, the same menu offers Download Video, Download Thumbnail and Download Both. Re-export any time with Export again.
The export dialog has three more tabs:
| Tab | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Timeline | The project as an edit you can open in Premiere Pro (.xml), Final Cut Pro (.fcpxml) or DaVinci Resolve (.xml). Voiceover, music and effects sit on separate tracks. You can choose whether to include media. |
| Text | Subtitles as SRT or VTT, built from the same word timings as your captions. No render needed. |
| Thumbnail | Thumbnail options for the project. |
Share a link
A share link plays the project in the browser. Viewers do not need an account.
In the editor header, open the share menu and turn on Share link.
Choose Copy link. Use the arrow icon to open the page and check it.
A project link plays every chapter in order. The page renders your scenes live. It is not the MP4, so it works before you render.
Before the first share
The first time you share, the project must be fully generated. If it is not, the switch is off and says why, for example "Finish generating to share". Agents can get past this: the share_project tool mints a link mid-build, and its result says what is still pending.
Pause, reset and view count
- Pause: turn the switch off. The link is kept but nobody can watch. Turn it on and the same link works again.
- Reset: create a new link. The old one stops working.
- Views: the menu shows how many times the link was opened. Only you see this number, never viewers.
Share one scene
You can also share a single scene. Asking again for a scene that already has a link returns the same link, and the page always shows the scene as it is now, so you can edit and re-send the same link. A scene link has no readiness gate, so a scene that is still generating can be shared; the page shows its own status. Agents use the share_scene tool for this.
Privacy
- A share link is public to anyone who has it. The link is a long random token. Treat it like a password.
- A paused or reset link stops working for viewers straight away.
- The share page strips how a scene was made, such as image prompts and model names, before it sends the scene to a viewer.
Share or render?
| You want | Use |
|---|---|
| A quick look from a client or teammate | Share link |
| A file to upload to YouTube or social | Render, then Download |
| To keep editing in another tool | Timeline tab |
| Subtitle files | Text tab |
Do it from an agent
An agent calls render_project, polls get_project_status and then share_project. See What an agent can do.
